Patient-clients who are bound to wheelchairs or beds, in the short- or long- term, deserve access to the technology that others enjoy.  Technological access can be important, whether it is for personal or rehabilitation purposes.  As a speech therapist, your patient-clients may need the internet to communicate with friends and family, to access rehabilitation programs or apps, or simply to play games while relaxing.  Additionally, the iPad Mounting System can provide you, as a speech therapist, with expanded and alternative technological options for treating your patient-clients in a safe and secure manner.

This secure iPad Mounting System is compatible with both the iPad1 and iPad2 models, and can be used with or without the iPad case.  It is constructed with three parts:

The cradle securely holds your iPad with two stretchable cords, similar to bungee cords;
The mounting arm adjusts from 14.5 inches to 24 inches;
The clamp connects the iPad cradle to the mounting arm.

How does it work?

Slide your iPad into the cradle and secure it with the two flexible cords.  For protection, your iPad can be covered in the cradle when not in use or during transit.  The cradle includes all cut-outs for both the iPad1 and iPad2, so there is no loss in functionality.  The power button, phone jack, and docking port are all accessible to your patient at all times.  The cutout feature gives this iPad Mounting System a distinct advantage over similar mounting and docking systems.

The mounting arm clamp employs a v-channel to connect to wheelchairs, chairs, and bed rails.  The hard rubber construction eliminates scratching on those surfaces.  The clamp can also be mounted on table tops or other flat surfaces.  The mounting arm clamp is knob-adjustable to fit various-sized mounting surfaces.

The mounting arm connects by clamp to the cradle.  The connection is secured by two screws, one on the clamp and one on the cradle.  The mounting arm is adjustable to different heights depending on the need of the patient-client.  It can be tightened or loosened to fit the individual's specific need or positioning.

Once the entire system is constructed and the iPad is firmly secured, it can be adjusted to the height and angles necessary for the individual using it.  Be careful to support the iPad when making adjustments.

Access to technology can be useful to you as a speech therapist and desired by your patient-clients.  Through thoughtful construction and design, the iPad Mounting System provides your patient-client the ability to use an iPad, even if they are bound to a wheelchair or bed, and the functionality to fit your patient-client's viewing height and angle needs in a secure way.
